A remote, elephant-rich wilderness in southeastern Zimbabwe, famed for the towering Chilojo Cliffs and the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.

Gonarezhou — the 'Place of Elephants' — is one of Africa's great unspoiled wildernesses, a remote expanse of sandstone gorges and riverine forest in Zimbabwe's far southeast. The park's signature image is the Chilojo Cliffs, a towering red sandstone escarpment that glows at sunset above the Runde River, while herds of elephant, buffalo and a growing lion population roam a landscape now joined to South Africa's Kruger and Mozambique's Limpopo National Park within the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Few visitors make it here, rewarding those who do with a true off-the-beaten-track safari.
