Small park famous for the world's largest mammal migration — millions of straw-coloured fruit bats gathering each October to December.

Kasanka is a small, intimate park in central Zambia best known for hosting the single largest mammal migration on Earth: each year between October and December, up to ten million straw-coloured fruit bats converge on a tiny patch of swamp forest to feast on wild fruit, blackening the sky at dawn and dusk. Beyond this extraordinary spectacle, the park's network of rivers, lakes and papyrus swamps shelters the elusive, swamp-dwelling sitatunga antelope, puku, and a rich variety of waterbirds. Purpose-built hides, including a raised platform overlooking the bat roost, make Kasanka one of the most rewarding small parks in Africa for a short, high-impact visit.
