Nanyuki sits on the equator at the foot of Mount Kenya (5,199 m) and serves as a highland gateway to the exclusive game ranches and wildlife conservancies of the Laikipia Plateau. At 1,993 metres above sea level, the town enjoys a pleasantly cool climate surrounded by cedar forests and moorland. Nearby Ol Pejeta Conservancy houses the world's last two northern white rhinos and East Africa's largest black rhino population.
